Possible leakage is one of the issues stalling the development of Carbon Capture and Storage. Over the past four years, the QICS project has investigated the nature of leakage from a CO2 storage site; it has quantified the potential environmental impact, tested methods of monitoring and designed improved predictive models.

This seminar presented the results of this research and was particularly aimed at stakeholders including industry, regulators, policy makers and environmental interest groups. It gave an opportunity to discuss the scale and nature of possible impacts with experts involved in the project and to gain an insight into recommended methods for monitoring storage sites.
