As part of its ongoing research, BGS have developed a number of software tools to advance their understanding of scientific systems and help them model geological and hydrogeological processes. These software have been made available for anyone to use.
AquiMod — simulate groundwater level time-series and explore uncertainty in its predictions using our lumped conceptual groundwater model.
BGS·SIGMA is an integrated toolkit for geological mapping for capture, interrogation and visualisation of geological information.
GISGroundwater — construct 2D groundwater flow models in ArcGIS and simulate groundwater level surfaces.
BGS Groundhog Desktop is a software tool for the display of geological and geospatial information such as interpreted geological cross sections, maps and boreholes.
The software listed here are all delivered under the Open Government Licence, subject to the following acknowledgement accompanying the reproduced BGS materials: "Contains British Geological Survey materials © NERC [year]".
