RSPSoc (The Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society) would like to announce an exciting upcoming event: the RSPSoc Wavelength Conference 2013.

This conference provides the best professional environment for interaction and networking between representatives from university and commercial workplaces, whilst still being very informal and great value. Along with presentation/poster prizes, there are three engaging keynote speakers and a fun social programme. Participation from the major universities and firms working in the field of remote sensing/photogrammetry will make this a fantastic event – so don’t miss out!

The UK has a legacy of civil infrastructure assets that form vital components of the UK interdependent infrastructure system including within transportation corridors and service (energy and water) networks. Many of those individual assets are ageing — and sometimes failing.

The UK infrastructure sector faces the daunting challenge of maintaining and modernising the systems on which we depend. This BGS-CIRIA conference will showcase emerging techniques and technologies to capture infrastructure asset location and condition data. Delegates will learn, via case study presentations, how various clients and major projects have utilised innovative data management to inform asset management planning.

Prof Mike Stephenson, BGS Head of Energy, will chair the Shale Gas World conference on 27 - 29 November 2012 in Warsaw, Poland. This comprehensive event from Europe's capital of shale gas will cover all aspects of shale gas including operations, technology, geology, policy, and environment.
