Field mapping

The British Geological Survey will hold an Open Day at its Environmental Science Centre in Keyworth on Saturday 1 July 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We are planning a packed day that illustrates the wide scope and applications of our research activities.

There will be something for rock lovers of all ages — from newbies to experienced earth scientists.

What are our open days like? Read a blog of the 2015 Open Day or look at pictures from our 2013 Open Day.

Registration is now open

Quarrylab.

Please complete the booking form if you would like to attend the BGS Open Day on 1 July 2017.

Note: This is a ‘drop-in’ event, so you can arrive any time between 10 a.m. and about 3 p.m; the booking form helps us to plan for the busiest periods of the day.

Please provide enough information for us to contact you — in case any of the arrangements change. An email address is ideal, but please ensure it is entered correctly.

We recommend you allow at least an hour for your visit. Please indicate your expected time of arrival to help us plan.

The event closes promptly at 4 p.m. Please allow plenty of time to enjoy your visit.
